Undrinkable: The Elk River Chemical Spill
Two weeks after the Elk River Chemical Spill many West Virginians are still suffering sickness and chemical burns after using their water. Even after state officials declared the water for approximately 300,000 affected residents safe to use, lines of traffic form outside of the last water distribution sites by people afraid of the water in their homes. The incident has caused an outcry for change by citizens of a state with strong ties to powerful coal and chemical industries.
